Although Jeff Bridges did not elaborate on the type of lymphoma he is diagnosed with, but there are largely two types of lymphoma. The disease is a cancer of the lymphatic system – a body network comprising of the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus gland, and bone marrow. The lymphatic system protects the body against invasive diseases and other medical conditions. The two broad categories of lymphoma are Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Medical experts usually treat cancer with specialized drugs, chemotherapy, radiation, and sometimes, stem cell transplant.
