Apple is in a celebratory mood as it rolled out the 15 best apps of 2020 – apps that influenced people’s lives and work in significantly measurable ways. Apple said these apps were loved by millions of users worldwide and succeeded in making life easier and better for all users. In a COVID-19 year when everyone was locked down at home due to the coronavirus pandemic, Apple said these apps enabled friends, family, colleagues, and loved ones to stay connected.
These apps were distinguished and stood tall over peers because of the quality of their designs, the creative input that went into their creation, their user-friendliness, and overall innovative technology. The company also noted the outstanding value, cultural impact, and benefits these apps played in making the lives of its users more comfortable, MacRumors reports.
Phil Schiller, Apple Fellow, said more connections were built this year using these amazing apps. He appreciated the contributions of developers who gave users ingenious and helpful apps that improved their lives. He said that the winners of App Store Best of 2020 reflect creative and innovative spirit at all levels. Schiller noted the contribution of these apps in the area of education – helping kids to stay connected even while at home, helping to curb global hunger, and in other amazing ways that their impact was felt.
Apple identified Wakeout! which helped to keep busy individuals fit and in shape. The app was designed to enable individuals at homes, offices, or classrooms to exercise at every given point. With no more than 30 seconds, one could take advantage of the custom-made workouts designed to suit the individual’s settings.
Apple also recognized games such as Genshin Impact, Legends of Runeterra, Disco Elysium, Dandara Trials of Fears. Disney+ was one of the streaming apps that made it to the list. In 2020, the Disney app offered users fresh content and possibilities that they yearned for. As expected, Zoom also made it to the list; it is not unsurprising that one of the breakout apps of 2020 that made remote work possible would make Apple’s list.
The productive app, Fantastical, was among the best apps of 2020, and so was Endel. TikTok became one of the most popular apps of 2020 and it made the list also.
